Why We Built This Site
Public court information is useful only when the record holder is clear. In Houghton County, the County Clerk serves as Clerk of Circuit Court, while the 97th District Court, Probate Register, and Family Court Clerk maintain different categories of files. MiCOURT can provide a public case-history lead, but it does not replace the clerk, a calendar confirmation, or a certified copy. We organize those public routes so a person researching a case, court date, filing, or local court structure can identify the proper starting point.
What You Will Find Here
The content focuses on public access channels and the limits that apply to each one.
- Docket routes: local explanations for criminal court dockets and civil court dockets.
- Dates and settings: how the court schedule, case history, and clerk confirmation fit together.
- Public searches: a docket search path using court selection, name, or case number.
- Copies and requests: the difference between a docket, a filing, and court case records.
What We Cannot Do
We do not operate a court or keep an official Houghton County case index. We cannot retrieve a court file, issue a certified copy, set or change a hearing, modify a docket, or advise on a particular legal matter. Only the court or clerk with custody of the record can take those actions.
Always verify a case history, filing, fee, or setting with the Houghton County office that maintains the original record.
Search Partners
The sponsored search boxes are provided by third parties. They are separate from Michigan courts, the Houghton County Clerk, and MiCOURT. Any result from a private search tool should be treated as a lead only and checked with the public court or clerk source that holds the record.
